What ho Hive Mind!

A friend is planning two 7yw armies (probably Austrian and Prussian).
He wants to know what a good, balanced, battle would be?
Also roughly how many men per battalion/regiment?

My recommendation is Honours of War, which also includes several small starter scenarios, plus the first battle between Prussia and Austria  - Lobositz, which has been bath tubbed for a nice balanced game. The 10mm armies look great on 1" squares:

Honours of War highly recommended; ditto the Kronosaf site which is just superb.
