Anyone else pre ordered the new version of sharp practice? I can't decide wether to go with naps or ACW in 10mm.....

Since I have SP1, I ordered SP2 - Bundle 5, with all the trimmings.

I don't even like Napoleonics (But I do love Skirmish games...)

Now... painting 10mm Napoleonics...

Zippee

I have, bundle 1 - no need for MDF chips here.

and its not just Napoleonic its everything Blackpowder - I believe the core rules contain details for FIW/AWI, Napoleonics, ACW and Indian Mutiny for instance with lots more promised

I kind of lose interest in wargaming between the introduction of gunpowder and the introduction of the tank...

Someone else (on this forum, I think...) suggested it was between the disappearance of War Elephants & the introduction of tanks, which I like...

I don't think that actually exists as an era - well not one lasting more than 50 years max.

I agree, and bought the same bundle. Thinking of FIW..
( another project ! )

Kind of tempted, but I don't need another period right now.

I'll wait till the PDF only version is available.

Perhaps.

After seeing the AWI pics on the pendraken website I'm tempted to get them now!

Tempted but frankly far too many periods and rulesets on the go as it is!

Bollocks - only bought sharpe Practice 1 about 2 months ago. Evidently saw me with MUG engraved on forehead.

I'm still trying to paint my 28mm Peninsular war from when I got SP1 a couple of years ago. I have 4 groups done now and have preordered the big bundle, I am very tempted with some 10mm AWI or French and Indian wars type thing.

I played SP 1 with 10mm mounted 4 to a 20mm square base counting a s 1 "figure2 as per SP rules - just looks more like a company size action than an episode of Sharp. For me that is a plus. . .

I think SP2 will be a smoother more streamlined game benefiting form the experience of COC and other games, rather than being an essentially different game.

Although that's enough to have forced me to purchase

Thanks to Derek Hodge, I played a Sharp Practice 2 French & Indian War game last week. The game was played with 15mm figures individually based on euro cent coins saboted in my Supreme Littleness euro cent sabots. Derek organised the game very well and I felt the rules allowed us to play a fully flavoured F&IW game - complete with house burning and settler scalping! In a conversation I had with Rich last year, he emphasised that the rules had always covered the whole black-powder era but that Sharp Practice 2 would emphasise this.

Nasty Indians slaughtered my settlers then set fire to a house.  Then they ran away when the infantry from the fort up the road arrived.  My only consolation was that the other house was saved from being burnt by Indian incompetence (a special event meant that they fumbled their attempt)

I've been involved in playi-testing since late last year and I'm still loving the game.
