Curious. Having found some track sections and thinking "Great! That would just do for Cromwells!" , I have been looking up photos and hardly any show Cromwells festooned with extra track armour. LOADS of scrim camo, so could be hidden...or, unlike Shermans and Churchills used for assault, did Cromwell units rely on speed and camo for recce and exploitation roles? I thought that, unlike earlier cruisers, the power plant was ample to haul extra weight if required by crews...or was it regimental doctrine? The only photo seen so far (Zaloga) has a SMALL section on a bow.
I love cluttering up Brit and US tanks with stuff!   ;)  But, I also wonder whether most would be ditched for PLANNED attacks due to fire risk...photos are normally taken while moving up.

Hullo,
Looks like it wasn't done much according to google at least. Other clutter seems to be more common: tarps, cable, bundles.

I Found a few pics of short track sections on the bow area.

They do need iron sides, obviously enough.
I don't drink coffee to wake up. I wake up to drink coffee.

Do they? Perhaps they would be better unarmoured?

Thanks for the info chaps...esp fsn...very inspiring vid...very British Cavalry! lol.

Wonder about the 20mm rounds dartboarding the tank though. Were flak guns issued with AP? Must have been...never thought about it before.
