After a long winter break (and hear is mainly why http://smww2andnapoleonic.blogspot.co.uk/2016/03/interlude.html) I have been back doing things and finishing things off that were partly done. The first to come out is my 6mm Adler French line cavalry, lights and heavies:

I don't think my wife likes me very much, when I had a heart attack she wrote for an ambulance.

thanks. If it was closer I would go often. I intend to go in a couple of years though and see some bits of North and South island that we did not get round too, plus lots more beer and wine (plus the pick your own cherries were awesome!)

Those are great.

I always feel Adler look weird until you paint them because the proportions are odd, yours look brilliant!

Adler proportions have changed over the years - I started buying them when they first came out. Here is brief post on the old question about whether Adler heads are too large

I agree with you - I also have been purchasing Adler since those early days in 1984? 5? something like that - bloody long time ago now anyway  :o

I remember my first batch an clearly being able to discern (and paint) the eagle of the shako - not a shapeless blotch but an actual eagle. At that moment several thousand H&R went in the swap bin at the next show. Of course back then I could see the eagle shako plate with my own eyes, not through glasses and magnifiers.

getting old, not all its cracked up to be - I believe I may have been miss-sold on the concept  :(

my first batch was in 1986 having just bought a huge French and Russian army in H&R  :'(. Finally sold all them off unpainted a couple of years ago on ebay! only painted a few units before I came across Adler then there was no way I was going to put time in on H&R figures
