The other day I was sitting painting my new Pendraken Goblins (and very nice figures they are too) when a tho9ught suddenly hit me...I've got maybe ten more years before my eyes are totally shot and my hands shake too much that I'll have to stop painting.

So...

When are those Fantasy Amazons going to be remodeled? I'd hate to die before you get around to doing anything about them.

I'm only in my mid-30s and I've been having those same thoughts. How long before I can't paint any more.
By that time we'll probably all have personal robots to do all our painting for us, anyway.
Rimmer: "Aliens."

Rimmer: "Well, we didn't use it all, Lister. Who did?"

Lister: "Rimmer, aliens used our bog roll?"

Because of that I have reduced the amount of unpainted  figures I have bought last year drastically.

I find painting so relaxing that I dread the day that will come.

I aim to have everything painted by the time i retire, that way i have time to play with my toys  :D

I've just turned sixty and can still paint okay with the aid of glasses, just not for as long as I used to able to.

2017 Paint-Off - Winner!

I will be 66 in a few weeks time. I had always worn varifocals at work which increased in strength as I grew older.

I retired when I was 59 and the first thing I did was to have my eyesight laser corrected. I now have perfect 20:20 distance vision.

I need to wear standard reading glasses (3.5) to paint and I can paint fairly well.

I plan on painting for a good few years yet.
My Ego forbids a signature.

I'm either painting too slowly or buying too rapidly, take your pick, so my lead pile grows month by month.

I'm doubtful I'll ever get them all painted. But I enjoy planning projects and pottering about painting things so have no plans to change my habits. At coming up 63, I reckon I'm too old a dog.

I plan to be buried with my unpainted armies arrayed around me like the Qin Emperor, just to confuse future archaeologists :)

Don't forget.....You can always treat yourself to an Optivisor.

I genuinely couldn't do without mine.

Like Mike, I'm fast approaching 63......Give or take a few millennia.

If so, go for it, Steeleye. As the saying goes, "Make hay while the sun shines." I'm now 62 and have had to wear glasses for about 50 years of my life. In the last 5 years or so, I have had to take my glasses off and hunch up close to the figure to see better to paint. Nowadays, when I paint, to see things better, I unconsciously try to take off my glasses ......... which, of course, ain't there! :(

But there's this guy called, "Techno," who keeps trying to sell me an ... "optivisor"... but who knows ... maybe he's on to something   ;)
I may not have gone where I intended to go, but I think I have ended up where I needed to be.

I got the Rolson version of the optivisor cheap on t'internet, don't know why I didn't do that 50 years ago ... though there being no internet might have something to do with it!

I should be on a commission from them. ;D

But for those of you who have started to struggle a bit on close focusing....I'd be fairly staggered if you didn't think, "Why didn't I get one of these earlier !"
