Welcome to the forum. I think if I was from Malta I would have chosen Falcon as my moniker.  :)

Welcome, Sir.

Please tarry after the paint competition. The on line awards party is ... well extraordinary.

How would you know, you've never been invited...

Heh - I've been using 'Vanvlak' for around a decade in different fora, now, and it stuck. It's a slight mis-spelling of the surname of an author of a materials engineering textbook (Van Vlack) - and that's a very long story.

Thanks for the many welcomes - and the party invitation (will there be Guinness?).

@GrumpyOldMan - that's true, and a bundle of sailors would make for some varierty. Some more potential damage to my wallet, and a sudden urge to model a surviving X Lighter 127, now sunk next to Manoel Island...

Ah yes, the end of that sentence did drop off...  :-\
"...by providing an entirely different range of uniform colours to paint on 10mm scale models, to potentially striking effect." :D

Going from the plans here http://xlighter.org/ it looks like the scratchbuilding of the lighter shouldn't be too difficult.

If you're making any ships/boats handy things are:-

BR130 Oerlikon 20mm cannon + naval crew (crew in duffle coats and helmets, could be replaced)
A22 .50cal AA MG with crew (American crew but could be replaced with others)

Cheers
