Sounds like a great game, nice table and lovely figures, can't get much better than that! :-bd

Rimmer: "Aliens."

Lister: "Oh God, aliens... Your explanation for anything slightly peculiar is aliens, isn't it?

Rimmer: "Well, we didn't use it all, Lister. Who did?"

Lister: "Rimmer, aliens used our bog roll?"

A great looking game and a nice write up on your blog.

What amendments do you use? I have to say I was underwhelmed by The Last Argument of Kings supplement. I felt it really only covered 7 Years War armies and pretended that they were the same for the WSS. A shame because I really like the rules. We ended up working out our own amendments that better reflected our own take on the period.

Last Hussars amendments worked nicely for us.

Good looking fun game there!

Do you have a link to the Last Hussar amendments?

IIRC we tinkered a little more, making "platoon fire" a second turn of first fire (I know there's probably no difference in reality but we wanted to differentiate them somewhat!), and we also tend to allow Brigades to keep rallying units if past their Shaken value by morale, not destroyed units.

Hi, the extra rules we used for the game were, +1 to hit at long range with musket fire, only move once and fire, French cavalry can't counter charge and once the artillery was deployed its stuck there. Also we treat brigades which are broken the same way pike and Shotte rules do, so if a unit from a broken brigade is NOT shaken it can continue to fight as per normal only its morale is dropped to a 6. Another of our own rule is that cavalry don't automatically counter charge, they have to test for a order to do so (as you would have to to announce a charge), this rule we use in all our Blackpowder games.

Cheers

Forget
the above ammendments i did not get them quite right i have been informed by my dad  :-[. The ammendements we use are as follows:

1) Troops may only move once if they want to shoot, then it will be on a -1 ( -1 moved)
2) Long range -1 (musket fire)
3) French cavalry may not counter charge but they may conduct closing fire with a toal of 1 dice 6 to represent pistol fire
4) Artillery morale, a score of double 6 counts as a hold in melee (usually they just break in combat)
5) French horse charging get +1 to combat reolution
6) Allied horse charging get + dice 3 resoltion
7) Woods etc is half speed
movement, they need not be in open order to pass through.

also counter charging is auto matic and doesnt need a order, i am just getteing my wires crossed with another ruleset ha ha

hopefully ive got them right this time.

Thanks for all the comments  :D
