If I'm reading it right Scott....

There look to be direct trains to Middlesboro from King's Cross station in London. (How many stops they make on the way, is another matter.)

Someone shout, if I'm wrong !

Cheers - Phil

Welcome to Blighty! Yes you can, but it's quite a trek*! Maybe find a show like Reading Warfare where the guys come south!

*Travel distance and travel time do not match up in this country. Driving in or out of London equates to adding at least two hours to a trip. Getting north-south in this country is easy, but east-west is a nightmare. All roads may not lead to London, but the vast bulk point towards it!  Trains are very very expensive too, especially if you try to travel on Fridays in rush hour, but you will find this out!

The irony is, I have loads of friends who have either moved to Canada from London, or are trying too! ;D

I am heading to London in May for work, anyone know if you can catch a train from London to Hobbiton (Middlesbrough home of Pendraken miniatures)?
Have you got a ring you need to get rid of?

If so, perhaps Techno can guide you. I've got his picture here somewhere ...

Thanks all,

Now a UK 'trek' is not the same for us you know.  What you call a two hour drive needed a lunch and an overnight stop is just driving to work for us! :D

I will be in London from 15 - 22 May.  Anything happening then that they will be in London or nearby???? :-\

There is one from Kings Cross as Techno says:

There's one that stops at Eaglescliffe and Darlington which is a straight run, no stops at all until you get to York.  That's the one we use when we've gone down to London ourselves.  It's about 3 hours I think, so quite a trek, and it's about £60 return when booked in advance.  If you did fancy a visit, I'm sure we could arrange someone to pick you up from Eaglescliffe, but I'm not sure if our unit would be interesting enough to warrant 6 hours combined travel and a chunk of cash!

There's a huge amount of stuff in London to do and there's also a handful of UK shows that month, depending which week you're coming over.  There's a 2016 show calendar here: http://www.newarkirregulars.org.uk/

Awesome, I will be there during the Partisan MMXVI on the 22nd of May.

Hi all,

Thank you all very much for the information and advice.

As I said in my opener, I have nor done 10mm before.  I did these today as a test.  Hopefully I will improve as time goes by.  Think I am doing the 28mm things in 10.  Any and all advice would be most welcome.  Oh and I have no idea who makes the figures.

Sorry I know I should probably put these somewhere else.

Those look good to me!

There's a painting and modelling section and a non-Pendraken section. If the mods have a problem with posting that here i'm sure they'll move it. So not a problem.

Folks,

I am mightily impressed by the fellowship that exists on this Forum.

You can, but I have just looked it up and it will cost you an eye watering £133 return (if you avoid the toxic rain and a rabid FSN)  :)
