Sad news about Alan Rickman

Hard to believe that Bafta award winner, Alan Rickman, has also passed away. A really good British actor and a great loss to the movie and stage business. Same age as Bowie. Sad to know we won't see him on stage again or any new movies. I'll fondly remember him most for his performances in Harry Potter, Die Hard, Galaxy Quest and Robin Hood, Prince of Thieves.

I'd completely forgotten about Galaxy Quest when I was reminiscing earlier, great film!

Another huge loss and another complete surprise  :(

Another surprising one today, and another nice guy gone.  Adele was a huge fan and is really upset by it.

Wife and I are both fans, re-watch it at least once a year. It is a great parody but as you say a well told SciFi story in its own right.
Also a fan of Rickman. He was such a perfect villain in "Die Hard" that when he was revealed as the Sheriff of Nottingham in "Robin Hood, PoT", the audience reaction was priceless! Will most definitely be missed.

So true.

Though I have recently voiced the, possibly heretical, notion that it would be interesting to see what Laurence Fox or Benedict Cumberbatch could do with the role.
