Had my first game of Honours of War last night. It was the first scenario from the rulebook and featured Prussians attacking a bridge defended by Austrians. The Austrians attempted to weaken the Prussians before contact, but, despite dispersing both the Prussian hussars and grenadiers, took so many casualties themselves they ended up fleeing across the bridge, and having their brigade commander captured and surrendering the field. For Ithoriel, the photo shows the Prussians emerging from Mulheim in march column. Both Mulheim and St.Ulrich were depicted using 10mm buildings.

Hopefully not too0 long before they're at it again in 1866 Chris.

Lovely stuff Leman.

Good looking game and, naturally, I approve of the buildings :)

I note you don't mention which side you played - solo game?

First game. No shame in losing.

My test of a good game/ ruleset is did I have fun even though I lost?

So ... good game?

Nice to see you getting a game in with the rules. Did you enjoy yourself, despite losing? I lose regularly against Dave, but have great fun, which is the important thing :).

It was actually a very good game and the mechanisms led to a very fluid and fast paced game. As we become more familiar with the rules we will add in optional rules and weather. I am considering Bavarian allies for the Austrians, as well as producing a Russian army and depicting more battalion guns.

It would appear my order has been confused, as it appears to be taking 7 years to get here.

Also the Dark Lord's Tardis has obviously suffered a malfunction.

What are the base sizes in those photos?
I have neither the time nor the crayons to explain why you are wrong.

OK, looked through the rules with the Boy.  We're going with 30mm bases- It seems that Cav have 4 x wider bases making the same size as 5xInfantry.  Have I read this right?  4x30mm = 120mm, which is half way between the 15mm and 20mm suggestions if I've understood this right (100mm frontage and 150 respectively).  Probably go with the 15mm measures

The rules use unit hits rather than worry about the number of figure, no matter what the author says, so I've planned it around 8 men per base.  If I'm about to give him duff advice let me know! Does the artillery width matter that much?  We have the 6 3pdrs from the two Prussian army packs.
