I have to say I liked it. A rip-roaring Space Opera romp, which was just what I wanted.

Nods to the old and a dash of new.

As to those complaining about things being samey - surely that's one of the main themes of the series, that people subject to very similar circumstances turn out very differently.

I rather like Han and Leia becoming the Space Opera equivalents of the ageing hippies who discover their son has joined the Conservative/ Republican* Party and become a merchant banker to boot!

Shame TR8-R bought it, time for a clone!

Personally, I'm looking forward to VIII and IX.

I've just watched the latest in the 'Terminator' series...(Yes...I know...I'm WAY behind the times.)

I wish I hadn't bothered with 'Genysis'...........Dreadful !

(That was more entertaining than the film itself !.... I'm steeling myself to watch the final third of that later.

In truth  there doesn't seem to be much point. The way the story has been written, ANYTHING could happen .....and the scriptwriters would say....."Well, that makes perfect sense....doesn't it ?")

Suspension of disbelief ?.........Not this time.....Dearie, dearie me.
