Austro-Daimler M12 tractor (AH18)

Managed to get this together with a bit of help from Leon (Thanks, great customer service!). There are locating holes for the footrests under the bench seats, these are higher up than I was expecting, so I hadn't spotted them.

And having spotted the gap in the exhaust join from the cab to the engine, I've now added a bit of plastic rod to close the gap.

HaHa, WWI designs looks like a little bit Gorka Morka for me.

Nice ... tractor/truck? what was the military use of the Autro-Daimler M12?

fred.

It was an artillery tractor - for example to tow the huge mortar pictured above. The last set of bits are to build the mortar in its 3 towed loads!

Fred! You, Sir, are a hero!

Now, how long does it need in a game for the mortar to be assembled and fired?

It's very cool. Not sure it's very practical, either in the real world, or for gaming.

But one of the advantages of smaller scales is you can add some of these non-front line bits of kit just for fun.

The firing mortar may well make its way on to a GWSH battle field, I'm less sure that the towed version will.

Done a bit of research on the Skoda 30.5cm morser.

It took around 6 hours to setup. But apparently didn't need any heavy equipment to do this, just jacks and the like.  But even in a game like GW Spearhead, this would be at least 12 turns, which is a whole game.

Rate of fire was one shot every 4-5 mins.

German use in WWI was limited to the opening attacks on Belgium and French fortresses - which is a shame as I was hoping to add it to my late war German artillery park.

I'm considering getting one of the firing models to add to my WW2 German forces.

BKC stats as per the Naval Guns in the British NE Europe list.

I've a couple of scenarios in mind.

Besides, it's an impressive piece of ordnance!

Naval Gun stats look about right for BKC

Jacobite Foot

Been working on these chaps for what seems like ages - irregular units always take much longer than uniformed ones

At the minute a generic Irish unit, with a low number of muskets, and no uniforms.

Very nice indeed. They do take longer but look better when finished
