With the possible release of the Polish range in the New Year, I started putting together a list for a Battlegroup for use with BKCII. Details can be found on my Blog if anyone is interested. The aim is to allow me to plan my project so that, fingers crossed, I can get it completed fairly quickly. Well that's the plan...

Great lists, artillery was quite decent for the Poles and well coordinated; but deep down, something important is missing...
Where is the threat from the Lancers?

Hi Steve J

Good work on the lists. Interesting thoughts on the 'What Ifs' , as you may be aware a particular favourite of mine.

I've been thinking on what I could 'proxy' the Poles as and have had fevered thoughts on using them as 1938 Czechs and Danes, both fertile ground for 'What If' campaigns. When the new French come out will see what I can use those for as well  :), some may find themselves in South America and SE Asia.

Cheers

fred.

I'd certainly be adding a few cavalry - always nice to have, even if not too useful.

I'd also make sure you have a decent mix of the various tanks - allows you options for different games. With my 1940s French I have ended up with far too much armour - but it looks very pretty.

The cavalry are useful and I will await to see the sculpts etc. Definitely Nice to have but want to maintain some focus to start with...

I'm sure this will happen and my French too have too many tanks :D.

Welcome to the club ;)

Agreed, with the latter of particular interest. I remember an interview with Peter Ustinov in which he recounts members of the German High Command secretly coming to London to see his father about the British helping to back a coup against Hitler if he went to war with Czechoslovakia. The British didn't think they were serious and so declined. But what if it had happened and a German Civil War broke out... :-\

I forgot to add that I will have an armoured train in my force :).

Aksu

Excellent. Have you by the way checked out the lists and scenarios at Anatoli's game room blog? http://anatolisgameroom.blogspot.se/2013/01/september-campaign-poland-in-flames.html
Quite a lot of stuff (422 page pdf about the Septemer campaign), even if it is mostly gor the FoW crowd, it might be useful.
Cheers,

I have it on my computer somewhere and was going to check it this morning Aksu, so thanks for the 'reminder'. He has done an excellent job and, even though for FoW, very useful for BKCII.

My AVBCW background assumes Germany fractured in a coup post Franco-British intervention in the SCW and Italian backed Austrian Fascist resistance in the Anschluss, leading to multisided conflict in Central Europe with France and the Soviet Union playing silly buggers. Britain would but fascist backed Royalist coup lead to a little bit of home grown trouble to keep it busy!

Lets me throw a lot of different factions into the fight against each other with a lot of antagonism and very little support :)

Another nice one to think about. The Czech army can be built up with mostly stuff that's available now too. I must get out the Belgian Civil War rules by TSOA out of the hard drive and see what I can do there as well...... :-\ :-\ :D

As, indeed, every well dressed wargamer should always keep one in reserve  :). I have slogans and descriptions in different languages printed on sticky labels so I can change identities of the train depending on scenarios
