I have been looking for a small submarine suitable for post war commando raid/intel  scenarios.  Just found one. Its an ICM 1/144 model of the U Boat XXIII - a small training sub, remarkably modern looking that also served post war and went on to inspire the design of a genre of compact subs used by small navies in the Middle East and Latin America.
At less than £9 and at just under 10 inches long its an ideal  piece of 10mm table kit.

I am devising a simple set of dice related rules to govern the play of landing agents and saboteurs as a prelude to a post war  invasion game to be staged over Christmas.

size should be just over 9 inches

The Sub has arrived from Hannants.  A pretty basic kit with minimalist instructions - but at £9 that's what one expects from ICM.

On the cutting board at 24cm exactly.  Nice size on the table, and I will add decking boards to facilitate the special ops I want it for.

I can recommend it for any WW2 or post war scenario where you can use a small and cheap submarine as a game element.

Now I need to find a site that illustrates a good "waterline" on the surface conversion.  The hull has a fair amount of sculptured detail so that will help define the waterline.
