Photo of these would be appreciated. Yet another AVBCW possible, seeing as the Bren Gun entered service in 1938. Otherwise I have to resort to BR160, Early War Vickers MG and I fancy a bit of variety.

Sorry I have these but they are at home while I'm in Germany.
Hope someone else has these for you.

There are Lewis gun teams in the WWI ranges as another option.

Home Guard Lewis Gun too, fred.

As to the Early War Bren, I have 3 bought from EvilBay as part of a job lot ... there is a thread elsewhere about stashing figures and then not being able to find them .... :(

Sorry Neil!

Actually Lewis gun teams would work quite well for the Anglicans... Off to look at the options now.

Thanks for the suggestions.

Umm, can't find any Lewis gun teams. I have BR157 (Home Guard/LDV, Lewis gun, helmet, civilian clothing) already. I'm looking for figures to use on BkC MG bases. Is the suggestion I double up figures or include a standard infantryman as the 'crew'? Umm.. That might actually work.

BP51 and 52 in the WW1 British range.

And I've just found images of those (http://www.pendrakenforum.co.uk/index.php/topic,7643.msg99405.html#msg99405) and they look spiffing. Just what the bishop ordered! My shopping list nears completion!

Thanks for the pointers everyone.

Thanks Leon, appreciated. Now to decide if my Royalists should have the new fangled Bren or the tried and tested Vickers. Purely aesthetic of course as mechanically they have no difference in BkCII.

For BKC MG stands I think most people think of them as representing tripod mounted MGs rather than the light squad ones.

But for VBCW you may feel that there are so few MGs available even the light ones can be treated as MG stands - especially if you are going for 1 stand = 1 squad, rather than 1 stand = platoon.

I'd like both my forces to have the option of some MG support, but not much. I'm thinking a maximum of 3 bases per side, seeing as that is the number most MG teams are packed in.

My shopping list currently has:

Royalists
BR160   Early War Vickers MG team (3)
SCW7   Hotchkiss M1914 MMG team, isabelino cap (3) (BUF)

Anglicans
F4   Hotchkiss HMG in helmet
BP51   Lewis gunners, prone (10)

Using those to make up 3 bases of each and allowing each side any 3 from 6. Though I might drop the Lewis guns for now.
