Oh bum! WWII again. Oh well, nice to know I'm in a privileged minority who fight most of their battles without the smell of petrol or diesel in the atmosphere.

That's the spirit. Mind you, the stink around pre-modern army camps is sometimes noted in history books. A small contributory reason for Ottoman victories was proper latrine discipline.
