I must apologise for my fellow members. Some of them are a bit ... well a bit ... you know.

Please be assured that some members, I hate to be seen to promote myself, but it has to be said, people like me, are here as dedicated modellers, gamers and collectors. As I was saying to Lord Hallux* last night ... I'm sorry you may not know his lordship. He's a close friend of mine, a right stand up fellow, socking good chap in fact ... that this forum sometimes descends into farce. His Lordship thought I said "farsi", but I shooed away that notion. Anyway he nailed it straight away when he said, in his clipped tones,  that I was probably right, and I say that he is too.

I thought Square Bashing was aimed at Divisional level games with Battalions as units, seems a bit to high level for East Africa. Or is there a lower level version?

It's a British attempt to seize a port in German hands. It was defeated quite comprehensively so the scenario is to see if the British force can do any better. Strangely  Tanga a seaport and there is no further mention of a lake. There is no lake on the gaming table, so how the scenario got it's name I am not sure. The British table edge is the Indian Ocean coastline.

Hmmm ... I've done some research and there may be a trend.

Lake Manga, 1811 - No animated characters, no even in Japan.
Lake Tanga-Brief, 1942 - No mention of ladies unmentionable. 
Lake Hanga, 1782 - Although a monkey was involved, it was nowhere near Hartlepool.
Lake Banga, 1983 - Not fought with obsolete, out of date equipment.
Lake Kanga, 1904 - Surprisingly, not part of the Great 'roo Bush War.
Lake Sangar, 1979 - Fought on the open, with no-one in prepared stone positions.

Thanks for the welcome - I think?!?!
Thought about the Fringe bit, but mine has been retreating towards the back of my head for years now. Only consolation is that the light bouncing from my gleaming pate can sometime help when photographing minis. No Medium Betty, I fear. Knew a Sweaty Betty once, but never worked out how she got the name - she was lovely.

Waiting for my new toys to be delivered, so nothing useful to contribute yet. Bore you all with some pics in time.
