Next suggestion for your snow terrain: 10mm Pendraken, Wars of the Roses, the Battle Towton.

It crossed my mind too, but i the setup i have is more geared around skirmish (playing field is 150cm on 1m)

Frostgrave is very Fantasy - it's centred around wizards.

If you want something small scale fantasy look at song of blades and heroes.

Something a bit more medium sized then Saga is a possibility.

So, read up on the SOBH rules while on vacation, and seems i may have to put a new task in my progress list:

Pulling all special rules out of all the source books into one Document, as i can imagine looking all th stuff up in a battle can be very time consuming  :o

There is just so much to remember otherwise, and my experience with deadzone games (wich uses a similar condensed profile with a few stats and multiple special rule keywords distributed over several books), shows that a central reference sheet speeds up play 300%!

So i decided to make a diary, in order to have an overview of my projects, and maybe see how much painting i get done  ;D

Here's the list of things to do, and things to put on hold!

1: 10mm acw forces: yanks completely finished, rebels 8 bases to go!

2: dropzone commander/pendraken zombie crossover game:  dropships and apc's finished, infantry/zombies yet to start

3: 2mm napoleonics: basecoated and british infantry finished

4: useme WWII skirmish: british airborne finished, german infantry finished 2 nights ago, SS still to start, British army basecoated

5: deadzone: enforcers and plague finished, rebels and marauders still to do. Terrain finsihed

6: snow terrain: have a white fleece with 60+ snow covered trees, have been pondering what to buy to play on these. Winter war seems good, any    suggestions welcome!

7: epic 40k forces: on hold because no one to play with, so not bothering with painting them for now

8: micro wings: Bunch of planes finished, 5-6 kits still unopened  :-[

9: salem church mini counter game, have it almost a year, still need to find time to play it once  :o

10: make specialability list with all SOBH abilities

So this is my current list, hope to have some stuff finished by this time next year  ;D ;D

I tend to copy the core details of the special rules on to the army list - you tend to only have a few for an army, and this way it is very quick to reference them during a game.

Yes that's what i will do to if i have the time, but i would really like an overview to consult when i am making up warbands. The web tool for designing the warbands on the ganesha site is great, but with all the special abilities, a lot of book flicking is needed to remember what everything does. (of course, tis might improve when i get accustomed to the rules)

Crack on, then you can half start another project whilst considering which to finish next ;)

Or is that just me...

Nope same here, just back from the shop with a tube of bright red to paint my d&d red dragon  :D

And off course turqoise, orange, sand, beige and purple for various other things.

I use more and more of the levis tester tubes (ambiance mur) these days, covers great and dead matt. I use them for basecoating.

Even my acw confederates were painted using cheap acryllics for home decoration:

Most of my SOBH minis too!

So, last night i decided to do something about this:

"9: salem church mini counter game, have it almost a year, still need to find time to play it once   :o "

Took me longer than expected, as i was rusty with the rules and made some errors, and couldn't completely finish the game.

But for the price i paid for this, jolly good game!
