Knightswing international is an English model railway supplier.  I was looking for a rigid raider and inflatables when I found their Atlantic N Gauge rib and other small boats.
Of interest to gamers they also stock :

AO46c Fuel Dump - three stacks of oil drums £4.95
A 029  Field Workshop - compressor and bench (ideal for engineers or that jungle airstrip I am building)
           price - £4.95
AO44  Harbour scene - a lot of harbour bits and bobs  £7.99
PN019  Oil refinery - two decent sized tanks  £12.99

You could build a good game around any of these scenic items -  the T34s roll forward..as back at the Field Workshop Hans and Fritz try to get that Maybach HL230 V-12 to start.....(Tigers had a lot of engine problems).

Interesting stuff, thanks for the suggestion and the link!

I omitted to add the link - thanks fsn.  Yes,  a lot of useful little bits here.  This is the beauty of gaming in 10mm (1/150), you have a scale big enough to see then details, and yet small enough to get  decent sized battle group(s) on the table.

Anyone got a cheap source for jungle type terrain ?

Nice find on the Railway stuff.

For jungle terrain, you could search under 'model palm trees' in eBay, or you could look at the Pendraken offerings http://www.pendraken.co.uk/Resin-Scenics-and-Trees-c25/Palm-Trees-sc264/  :D.

If you mix in some palm trees with normal deciduous type trees (various greens) it has the right look for jungle type terrain. Otherwise you could plant the coconut palms in an ordered plantation, I've used this with a colonial type mansion as an objective.

Do check the cheapo kiddies' action figure/dinosaur sets in the supermarket for palm trees. Two trees in a bag with lots of junk to be passed on to irritating kids to make them go away; it can work out dirt cheap despite the waste.
I don't drink coffee to wake up. I wake up to drink coffee.

you can also check out cake decorating places:-

75mm trees for 25p each  :)

or if you're after a real jungle - £35.00 for 144

Many thanks for all the useful ideas and sites.  I have also attacked an old artificial Christmas tree for those bush type shrubs, and pruned branches from the bigger HO & OO scale trees to get the required foliage.

Too much of course and movement by based units and armour becomes a problem.

I like the canal boat. A canal boat with an infantry gun stuck onboard may make a VBCW appearance  8)

Some very nice industrial stuff there. More pipes than you can shake a spanner at...

http://www.pdmarshmodels.com   also do some useful bits like G18 scrap cars - work well for street barricades , and  a decent motor launch £3.60 , and yacht that would blend well in VBCW or modern conflicts.

Useful stuff, thanks for sharing.  :)
