Thanks Fred, very nice pic of Arnhem as a 'real' game.   Yes, impressed by the 'block of flats' Kestrel model, lots of conversion potential and plastic models  are sooooo much mre robust than paper card. 

The prices seem very reasonable - I can never work out why 1/148 kit is so expensive in contrast to H&0 .

A few things

Metcalfe kits make great templates, my clubs model railway made use of quite a few

kestrel plastic kits are great, again we made a shedload of their shops and houses for 2 villages

free foamboard can be got if you have a exhibition display company in your locality (may need to ask first or skip dive) i came away from the local design company with an 8x4 of 3mm and 3 8x4 worth of 5mm it had been printed on 1 side and the corners were dinged but it was FREE.
