Amen to that! :)
Buy plenty of Matron's sculpts now!

If he keeps using the chainsaw, the value of his work will soon go up.

Hi

Last weeks battle, sob :'( :'( :'

(Battle of the Rostenkowski Crossroads

The Rostenkowski Crossroads were a major hub in the road network of Andovia. Crown Prince Karl of Bayern decided that this would be his next major objective. By controlling the road network and river crossings in the area Bayern would gain a massive strategic advantage over the forces of Kendrickstein and Heisenberg. As the Bayern army moved towards the main crossroads word reached Karl that a Heisenberg force was already advancing to meet him. Prince Karl had little to worry him, his force outnumbered the Heisenbergers and he was supremely confident in his troops abilities.

Turn 1
Prince Karl sent his 2nd Infantry brigade to cross at the left hand ford supported by the 4th cavalry brigade to threaten the Heisenberg infantry facing them. The Bayern 5th cavalry brigade was sent on a wide sweeping move to capture the northern most of the bridges. The 3rd Bayern Infantry brigade would follow them. To capture the main crossroads, Karl sent his 1st brigade straight up the main road.

As the Bayern columns moved forward with a grim determination, General Von Saul began to scribble down his orders and get his troops moving. On his left he sent two units of cavalry to stop the Bayern cavalry.  Several infantry battalion moved towards the crossroads ready to hold back the Bayern hordes. It was then however that  Sauls plans went to hell in a hand basket.  A complete misinterpretation of their orders saw the entire Guards brigade turn around and double time off the battlefield. In one fell swoop a quarter of the Heisenberg army was out of the fight.

Turn 2,3
The Bayern 4th cavalry brigade having found an alternative crossing point, crossed the river  and formed two lines ready to attack the Heisenberg infantry. The 2nd brigade moved rapidly in columns across the ford and deployed into supported lines.
The Bayern 1st brigade moved forward and formed lines and began to trade fire with the Heisenberg infantry at the crossroads. As they deployed in line the Bayern 5th Infantry battalion were attacked by Heisenberg cavalry. After a determined defence the cavalry was repulsed much to General Von Sauls disgust.

Turn 4
The Bayern 5th cavalry began to cross by the bridge, ready to attack the Heisenberg cavalry facing them. The 3rd infantry brigade had managed to find a shallow part of the river and crossed and formed lines facing the Heisenberg cavalry.  A well timed volley from the Bayern infantry devastated the Heisenberg Walt Lancers who routed from the battlefield.

Turn 5
The Heisenberg 2nd Draxlar battalion charge into the Bayern 2nd Jaegers, the jaegers being deployed in a skirmish line  proved unable to stop the determined Heisenberg troops, who having routed the jaegers ploughed into the Bayern Bielefeld battalion. This fresh battalion proved to be made of sterner stuff and stopped the Heisenberg assault dead forcing them to retire badly shaken.  At the northern crossing the Pinkman lancers charged the Von Hentzau lancers in an attempt to push the Bayern forces back across the bridge.  The Von Hentzau lancers counter charged and smashed through the Pinkman lancers routing them.

Turn 6, 7
The Bayern 1st brigade began to pour fire into the Heisenberg units defending the crossroads. The Heisenberg units began to waver and pull back. The Bayern 3rd brigade began to turn  and threaten the Heisenberg flank, enfilading the Heisenberg positions. As a result the 2nd Draxlar battalion routed, closely followed by the 3rd Draxlar.

Turn 8, 9, 10
The entire Bayern line surged forward in pursuit of the now rapidly withdrawing Heisenberg forces, volley after volley hammered into the Heisenberg units causing the Heisenberg 3rd and 4th jaegers to rout

Crown Prince Karl rode forward with his command staff and surveyed the battlefield. It was a great victory, for relatively minor losses he had smashed the Heisenberg army and gained control of the strategic objective.  His attention was drawn to a line of bedraggled Heisenberg prisoners being led to the rear by and escort of Uhlan lancers. The Uhlan commander Von Hentzau  trotted over to the Prince a beaming smile on his face. A great victory highness he said and we managed to bring you some rather nice tapestries. Prince Karl looked confused until  Von Hentzau unfurled the battalion colours of several Heisenberg units

Thanks

Glad you`re enjoying reading up on it and hope you can use the campaign rules for something.

Next Battle tomorrow night, Heisenburg on the defensive again versus the equally battered Kendrickstein army.
