Anti technology that disadvantaged the workers.

Pro direct democracy.

General Ludd.

;)

That's a much better, more accurate and nuanced portrait of the man/movement :D

See, this place is a hive of scholarly thought!

It's also very bad for my wallet as I really really fancy a copy of the "Trapped like a Fox" rules now. Dang you the artist formerly known as Dour Puritan!

I'm sold on Blud & Eisen for the table top, unless I go Bloody Big Battles which is really tempting me from it various battle reports, so the table top rules in Fox would be a bit unnessecery but I really like te sound on the campaign game and maps!

Personally I think it's worth it for the campaign stuff, which is most of it anyway. The tabletop game plays in a similar fashion to Square Bashing by Peter Pig. For those who are really, really into the FPW there is now a campaign available for the Republican phase of the war called City of Light.

(...)What i really want for them is the twin burdens of operational command and political battle. Random events will exist, but some of them will be political and some military.(...)

Hello
I ran this kind of campaign, as a "Game Master". The best way I used ( for us ) was to give lists of possibilities, where the players picked up 3 choices. ( ie. "Train the troops" or "Advance to the south"  or "Order to seize all the horses in the farms" or .. )
This way I gave ideas to my players to play "historical" ( it was very good for SCW )

I hope this may help you  ;)

Have a good game.

Don't mention it to the keeper of the purse strings but there's a little something in the post for me ;)
