Thanks all for the positive feedback.
I've got some unarmoured ones in the painting queue at the moment.
I'm unlikely to do a full blown step by step on those (mainly because it adds massively to the painting time!) but I'll be sure to post the results.

But coffee stirrers are free!
;)

I take your point, but I selected reasonably flat ones and six to a strip felt about right to me.

You have more patience than me :D

I got infuriated one too many times and just have up on stealing the coffee stirrers ;)

Look forward to seeing the unarmoured guys :)

Me too, this is a cracking little project. :-bd
Buy plenty of Matron's sculpts now!

If he keeps using the chainsaw, the value of his work will soon go up.

Excellent tutorial - thank you.   I wasn't sure when you dry brushed them all silver
but the finished effect is fantastic / inspirational.   The wash and highlight are very
important and really make them pop (even at this level of magnification).

Can I make one suggestion ?   Have you though about edging the bases in a mid
brown (for example, Graveyard Earth in GW-speak).   Just a thought.

Thanks again for taking the time to put this together.

Much appreciated.

Yes, in my excitement at having got the bases done I forgot to go back and edge them.
I usually do mine in Orkhide shade, dark green. So I'll go back and do that now!
