Question about frontage (acw)

Need some help.

I am prepping my next order, and having some trouble with my acw units.

I am using a ruleset where you have to remove bases when hits are taken. Now with 3 x 40 for a unit, taking one hit removes 1/3rd of the unit frontage.

Now this got me thinking, I could just make a marker to place behind my unit, with a dice frame to show how many 'bases' the unit has left. This would however mean that my frontage would stay the same even when down to my last 'base'.

It could also mean that i could make small, normal and big units (in the rules you can have 3-6 bases) by just starting the game with the same frontage and putting the dice on 4,5 or 6.

Would the frontage be a problem? game-wise, i don't think it would be a problem, because the only difference is the number of dice for firing and close combat. Everything is worked out as units, not single bases.

I decided to just make 3-base units and use the markers behind the unit to show numerical strength, makes life easier nd the table prettier for a longer time.

I just hate the thought of having to remove bases when hit, and the command nt being centered in the unit

Makes sense.

I'm having my own basing quandary for my BP ACW's too.  :-\
Buy plenty of Matron's sculpts now!

If he keeps using the chainsaw, the value of his work will soon go up.

Well i started of with 40 x 20 bases, 3 to a unit, with the thought of adding more bases to the units later on,to make them larger when i want to. Seeing how much time the standard 3 bases takes, made me re-think that  ;D
