Unfortunately, I cannot find it, but Angus also has another story there somewhere in his website/blog when he turned up at the SESWC rather the worse for wear following a Publisher's reception party in Edinburgh that day. For those who don't know, Angus Konstam is also an author of loads of historical books (including a few Ospreys) and a co-author of Die Kriegkunst. I've never met him though a follower of his website/blog for a number of years. The first time I saw him in the flesh was in Edinburgh when he walked in front of my parked car with his dog with me sitting at the wheel having an angina attack! I'm sure he looked my way. God knows what he might have thought I was up to in there!   :o
I may not have gone where I intended to go, but I think I have ended up where I needed to be.

It is really quite simple.

If drinking and playing wargames at the same time causes a problem...YOU ARE PLAYING WITH THE WRONG PEOPLE!!!!! ;D :d :d :d

Evening games with Last Hussar apart (who can't really accuse me of cheating, it's his own dice that cause him to regularly snatch defeat from the jaws of victory) most of my regular gaming companions have been known to partake of a drink or two at lunchtimes during all day games, with never any problems. Well sometimes an issue with Just a Few Orcs, but that's him and nothing to do with alcohol.  :-\ :P

Agree to a point but I just don't enjoy the game as much if I'm drinking.

Also it's not just my dice rolling (though the numerous turns I sat not moving on Thursday are obviously my dice'f fault),but his.  The man is a staticians nightmare.

I roll perfectly averagely (is that grammatically correct?), 33.3% low, 33.3% high and 33.3% in the middle. It's not my fault I tend to roll high when I need to roll high and low when I need to roll low! :d :d :d
