Ok, so the 'itchings' of this plan are potentially back on track and I'm taking a second look at building a couple of armies for Warband now a few more of the ranges are being padded out.

I'm going to be playing largely solo and originally I had planned to go 80x40 bases to fit with my medievals based for FoG as the basis of a Dragonmen Army....

I'm now thinking 60x30 and starting with a Goblin and Undead army just to get the ball rolling.

Are there many players using 60x30 and how have you found this affects the game?

I don't think my wife likes me very much, when I had a heart attack she wrote for an ambulance.

I'm rebasing my 60x30mm to 100x50mm, just because I want to, but I can't see 60 being a problem as all measurements are base widths anyway. :)

The only effect on the game will be that you'll need a smaller table area to play on.   :)

The rules are designed so that you can use whatever basing you have.  100x50mm gives you the best option for modelling a great looking unit, but any size that suits you will work fine.

All 4 of my Warband armies are on 6x3cm bases as I started with Dragonmen, using my Normans which are based for Imptus. It has no effect on actually playing the game, you just need a smaller table.

Good to see the bug hit you again.

I've gone with 60x30 since my current table is only 4x3.

It's wonderful, compact, offers a nice look.  Not as scenic as 100x50, or even 80x40, but I'm happy with it.

HOWEVER, that being said, I am worried about when I have to base mammoths and chariots.  The Giant isn't so bad, but the longer models might cause a problem.  Overlap or 60x40, I'll have to decide.

Good to hear that you like the 6x3cm bases. For my mammoth and chariots I go 6x4cm as they need the depth.

Could you model them so they look like the chariots are turning?  Or maybe have the mammoths rearing?
