Hopefully everyone suffering some bad weather is ok

I read on the BBC site there had been tornados in Pembrokeshire but I put that down to Techno having his yearly curry

Stay safe everyone

Pleasantly mild here. I wish it would last.

Just sleet and snow first thing, but nothing special.

Hertsblue

Torrents of rain, interspersed with bright sunshine. Can't seem to make up its mind.  :-\

Snow, sleet, hail and a thunderstorm yesterday/last night. :-SS X_X
Just a dusting of snow on the ground now.
'Mini tornado' was about 15 miles away.....Would have been closer to Mart, I reckon.

Not as much wind as there can be up here in the hills.....And that was after the curry. (Thank you Steve !  ;D ;D ;D)

We had 101mph winds on Shetland at the weekend so we had a hurricane  :D
now we are down to a mere force 8 with sleet and snow....
Sometimes I wonder - why is that frisbee geting bigger - and then it hits me!

Lancaster crippled by terrible weather....

Actually there were a couple of very heavy hail showers in the night which laid down an inch or so of hail then a very light sprinkling of snow.

There are several steep roads where people abandoned cars, the result total chaos and gridlock this morning.  I come in through the country lanes and didn't know there were any problems until I got withn half a mile of work then stuck for 40 minutes!

It really wasn't bad but people just seemed to panic.

Bodvoc

A couple of inches of slushy snow in the Dales, not too bad as most roads had been gritted..

We had a bit of rain, hail and lightning with no noticeable thunder last night...  :-\  We were up in Newcastle for the evening and when we got back everything was covered in a layer of fine snow/ice.

I am presuming all our Scandinavian and Canadian forum members are now laughing at us all for living in a country brought to a stand still with 2-4 inches of snow

I am quite fortunate living in the south eastern corner of England because we haven't had any troublesome weather at all. It's been a mite chilly and a tad breezy but that's about it. Fingers crossed.

Update: Just heard on the box that we are expecting strong winds maybe 50 -60mph, and up to 40mm of rain overnight.

I hope everyone who has had the nasty stuff is okay.

KEEP CALM AND CARRY ON WARGAMING!

. . . . but people just seemed to panic.

This. So very much this. Panic seems to be the default nowadays, not helped by the overly-manic weather forecasters we now get.

Raining for more than 24 hours at a time? Panic, panic, floods everywhere!

Not rained for a week? Drought conditions, stock up on bottled water and don't you dare wash the car or water your garden!

An inch of snow? Ahh, better not leave the house for three days! And I have to listen to endless stories about people's heroic four hour journeys to work.

Sun's out for more than an hour? Quick, cover up with hats & tee-shirts and slap on the sun screen!

What happened to just coping and getting on with it?

Cheers, Martyn
