Got the last details painted, gave them a wash of Army Painter Soft Tone ink, highlighted a few bits of white again. And stuck them on bases

A bit more basing to do to finish them off, but that's another 6 stands done!

Lots of progress today.

Started work on some more Mongols. Got the horses, armour and weapons done for this 20 or so, which should give me 2 bases of archers and 2 of lancers.

Thanks chaps. I'm taking full advantage of having a few days off, to crack on with some painting.

Also having got a new set of rules (Irregular Wars) for Christmas, it has triggered various army building thoughts, which has led me to spot a few places where I can easily add a few stands of troops to current armies, to make forces for Irregular Wars.

Last bits done on the Mongol cavalry. 2 stands of light cavalry (aka horse archers) and 2 stands of medium cavalry (aka lancers) - the later may be a bit of an odd distinction, but the Irregular Wars army lists splits between the more skirmishy horse archers, and others who were more melee orientated.

Photo is a bit dark, but you get the idea I'm sure. Still need to finish off the bases - probably do that tomorrow as I now have a bunch of stands to get sanded.

Thanks Jorge.

I've flicked back through the posts myself in the last couple of days - its quite interesting to see when I actually started working on some projects, and how long some stall for, then get another burst of activity.

But I'm not quite done for this year yet!!

Mongol Foot Archers
These chaps have been super fast to paint up - probably the lack of horses  ;)

I also found the Flodden Foot Men at Arms in a drawer - so have got a few more colours on them, which suddenly makes them look a lot more complete. So should get them stuck on bases shortly.

And Paul, it must be 2016 for you already, so Happy New Year!

Flodden Men at Arms

So a change from light stuff, to some proper heavy metal.

These chaps managed to get stalled for a good few weeks - but when doing the Mongol foot, I have managed to get the last bits of these chaps done. Not really sure why I have only done 3 bases worth of troops. But its a start.
