I got mine from eBay. Mainly as I could get singles fairly cheaply. These are 3mm which are quite bendy, and I don't think would work if much loner than the current 15cm

Managed to grab a couple of quick photos of the wadi pieces

Need a something to fix the sand in place, and maybe a bit of dry brushing on the dark steep walls.

Not done a lot of painting the last couple of weeks - I seem to have spent a lot of time working on our groups home brew fantasy rules, these had been parked for a while as we have played a lot of Epic Armageddon in the first part of this year. But we have got back to fantasy gaming the last few weeks, which has led to a major review of the rules as we haven't played them for quite some time.

Did do a bit of modelling of the weekend - made up some curved sections of wadi. And stuck together another half of the Perry 28mm Afrika Corps box set - so although two desert projects, both in completely different scales!

Did manage to get in another game of Warband with my eldest daughter (well 2/3rd of a game, we ran out of time)

We played Lizardmen against Dragon Men (looking rather arabic in this outing)

The deployment, lizardmen in woods, dragon men in the distance.

Towards the end - both sides have lost a few units on the left flank. The Men are pushing forward in numbers on the right. The lizards are tying to back off into the woods to gain a defensive advantage as they were all forest walkers.

Good looking game there! 8)

I think you are being generous, but thanks anyway! It was a fairly quickly put together one, and half the units are just blu-tacked to sabot bases  ;)

28mm DAK

Got the last few stuck together, and filled the arm seams with a bit of putty.

Unusually for a Perry set of figures, these ones are a bit short of rifle arms - there are a few too many MP40s to easily make up a whole platoon - managed to work in a couple of pairs of 8th army ones to fill out the numbers.

I like the fact that with no effort to mix things up that you can create 36 unique minis from the same bodies, just by picking different arms and hats.

Yep, the old skool Knights of Origio. Given a quick tart up, and it gives me 30 sword and shield guys for Kings of War.
The crossbows in front are of a similar age.

WWI Aircraft

After finally getting round to painting some of the WWII 1/300 aircraft, I realised I need some decals for them - but just buying a few decals would be too simple, so I got some WWI aircraft too.

The first ones I have put together are the early war ones - I have to say these are some of the fiddliest models I have made - the under carriages with struts and wheels, and the struts between the wings of the biplanes - then trying to get the wings offset the right amount. And only 2 of these were biplanes  :'( :'(  8 more late war ones - nearly all biplanes ....

Back row: German Rumpler Taube, 2 seater recon, 1914.  French Morane-Saulnier N, 1915, British BE2 2 seater light bomber

Front row: German Fokker Eindecker late 1915, German Junkers CL1 1918 (an interloper in this line up), British Sopwith Tabloid

Good grief. :o

Never knew a plane shaped like the Rumpler Taube had ever existed.
Cheers - Phil

fred.

It really is the first generation of planes - a collection of string and paper!

I don't think this is the correct way to land one

Must have been very brave to fly one of these - let alone to fly one in a war zone.

And you've not bought triplanes yet!!!

This is why when Wing of War came out with prepainted WWI we all breathed a huge sigh of relief!
Good luck old friend!
