Filming for Waterloo bicentenary

Just got done filming for the Waterloo bicentenary, all good stuff as usual but got to do some napoleonic surgery scenes with non other than Sean Bean, so exciting, tried not to get star struck, surprisingly nice bloke, down to earth no fluff or airs and graces, much broader Sheffield accent than on the TV. Dunno what it's called yet, should be in TV some time over next six months

Interesting post. Have unexpectedly found myself in situations where I've bumped into guys from the 'silver screen' (e.g., guy opens door for me. Thinking he looks like like Jason Issacs - it was - me saying something inane, then kicking myself later for having no presence of mind to say or ask things I should have, etc.) so, as a new guy, Ironduke, and having no idea why you would be involved in this kind of thing, are you film crew, actor, re-enactor or what?

Keep us posted on progress etc. One of my dearest friends works in hair and make-up and she has some interesting tales on which actors are nice and which are not...

Both Ma Subs and youngest lad -now in the West End on The Kinks Musical- were dressers at one of the theatres in Brum. They both had some stories along the same lines. The lad says that doing that job first has made him more appreciative of the people who do the same job for him.

In my earlier personification as a security officer one of my contracts was at the Hippydrome in Brum when HM had the only Royal Variety outside of the Smoke. Got chatting to most of the acts over the three days, really nice people and hardly a prima donna amongst them. (Got myself a souvenir programme and ticket after the show).

Evening job is teaching napoleonic history TA, youth groups, history groups, some TV and film work, I have particular interest in Napoleonic surgery, over the years I've collected a complete array of instruments which I do Demos and talks with, had fun advising Paul Bettany for master and commander and did the show the real master and commander, done some stuff for the smithsonian and youtube, did get a chance to do some surgery in the Orlop of the HMS Trincomalee, all great fun
