Hi guys,

i know that topic already exist but i wanted to know what color (valejo or model color) do you use for u.s tanks?
after puting that base, do you brush with white or base+yellow or base+white.
i ask because i ve paint my sherman with a model color's green and brush it with green+yellow but
im not that happy with the result.

Don't use vallejo myself but believe that brown violet is commonly used on US tanks. I find it's generally ok to simply dry brush with a sand colour rather than mixing something up.

Are you talking abuot US tanks in WWII right?

I would go for Olive Green base with lights/dry brush made of Olive Green+White (about 20% of white, no more).

If you are looking for a darkener tone for the vehicle try the same but with "Flat Green" instead olive Green

Cheers!

Flames of War actually do a "US Armour" spray can which might save you a lot of hassle. If you want a very dramatic rendition of detail, try a very pale grey lightly brushed on.

Can you actually get hold of this at the moment?
Was unavailable for years due to supply problems but believe they have sorted a new deal with army painter for sprays and brush on along with a host of silly names.
Comrade khaki anyone?
