I am not really into 10mm for WW2...BUT...I DO like the look of the M18 Hellcat...possibly to pit against that very nice Panther in the Bulge! I really DO NOT need another scale/war/theatre...BUT...what crew figures can WW2 guys recommend to be cut down for open top US TDs/Halftracks? The tank commander pack would, presumably, be wearing a leather helmet but I think TD crews wore pots. I cannot see any crew for Halftracks/jeeps etc, just pintle mounted .50 HMGs which would be a little fragile on their own and I know from past days 20mm that fitting cut down figures into vehicles can be a pain as figures tent to be larger than AFVs. Please tell me to forget about it and stick to Naps, ACW, ECW, Ancients...etc...and in 10mm, not 25mm, 28mm or 6mm...or the 15mm WW2 that I have bought loads of but not started on! Lol.   ;D ;D ;D

But...that Hellcat DOES look nice...   :o

Personally, I asked Leon to do me a pack of gunners without guns to use as vehicle crew and to increase the crews on some of my artillery.

I tend to snip them off at the ankles and drill holes in the vehicle floor to sink their legs into. The gunners wind up roughly the right height and the vehicles don't look like they've been abandoned!

Hellcat looks even better with 3 cut down gun crew hunkered down in the turret. (Thanks for a crew only order!). Now I've only got to paint the thing...and the 3 others...and the 3 (so far!) Panthers...original plan was for simple winter cammo but not so sure now!
Next problem is to decide on a base size...close to vehicle dimensions or larger? But if larger, then need to decide on finish...painted sand, flock or pva...road or dirt or grassland...or snow?    :-\
Wish I hadn't started this...BUT!   ;D

Ps: re-watched a taped tv programme 'Tank Overhaul' on Hellcat...apart from the commercial break reprisals and slightly over enthusiastic presentation, rather good...hence original plan (thought I remembered tanks in winter cammo...maybe that was the 'Panther' programme!). Good to see veteran re-united with his 'tank'...and high speed manoeuvring!   :)
