Red with black 'dragons teeth' triangles.
Main body is brass, rope/sash and treads are white. sticks are black.
Osprey 1870 Prussian army guide is good and detailed on them.

No problems.
Mollinary, Camerionian, Nik, Dour Puritan, Le Manchou and Chad are the real experts on this period, I just hang on their coat tails!

I'm disappointed in the forum, that obscure question took nearly 2 hours to be answered [-( ;D

How many on each rim and which way do the black dragon's teeth point? ;)

OK folks. I haven't put in my tuppence worth as:

I) I have been gainfully employed on the Hanover thread debating attack formations;
Ii) anyone who can paint dragon's teeth on a 10mm scale snare drum needs their head examining;
Iii) I thought I could trust ML;
Iv) If it is in an Osprey it hardly qualifies as obscure!

How wrong could I be?

The dragon's teeth are red and WHITE!  On the top rim the red is at the top point down. On the bottom rim, red is at the bottom, point up. Can anyone really do this in 10mm?   photos,  please!

Yes.
It's Wurttemberg that is black and red.
My apologies.

I'd have thought red and black would be Wurttemburg (or is it Wurttemberg? The English accent doesn't differentiate the two sounds as much as German.) drum rims.

I have just checked some of my Prussian photos and yes there are red and white dragons teeth but my iphone won't let me copy and paste from photobucket anymore! Grr  :'(

Educational and entertaining, who could wish for more.  :D

Not sure I'll manage to paint the triangles, red and white blobs will
just have to suffice.

thanks to all

I believe Steve McQueen also used that style.
