ACW Compatability

Looking for a wee bit of advice gents, I have just purchased a couple of bags of Old Glory Union and Confederate infantry and I was just wondering about what Pendraken ACW range compliments this range. I have looked at a couple of comparison sites and think the old range maybe the better but if someone has first hand knowledge I would be most grateful.

Is it just me or does one of those figures appear to have much more detail than the rest 

Anyone got any idea of the scale for the lines behind the figures? Are the big squares 0.5"?

Could be, 0.5" would be 12.7mm so that should be about right with our figures being around 11mm-11.5mm to the top of the heads.

Thanks for the replies, the old Pendraken range look like they will work in well enough with the Old Glory.

Everytime i see that picture i can't stop but thinking that the kallistra range is dominated by nba players

Kallistra are NOT 10mm but are marketed as 12mm. You might as well say, 'Ooh, those Pendraken figures are big chaps compared to Adler.'

I know that, but i didn't know that the first time i saw that picture, and the thought just stuck to me

Fair point - before they were specifically marketed as 12mm I bought some WOR pike to go with my Italian Wars stuff. Big disappointment. Consequently I have steered away from their WWI stuff event though it is really good. It just fits with nothing else on the market as far as I know.

Yeah i think it's a very strange choice to make, or a good one, depends from wich side you look at it.

1: they are not compatible, so you cannot add them to other collections, so you won't buy it.

2: they are not compatible, so you have to buy everything from them

I really like their Turkish range but won't buy because they would look like a race of giants against any opposition I currently own.

At Claymore this year, the Kallistra man came over to my WW1 demo game with some of his excellent figures to compare them with my 10mm terrain and miniatures. We both agreed they are different scales.
