Hello

Not sure whether to place this message here, or in Resources, or in Non-Pendraken.

Anyway this eBay retailer in Japan is having a sale on Tomytec buildings etc:-

I found him easy to deal with and he had no problem with English in setting up combined postage. I should point out that combining postage is the best way to get the stuff for a good price. Too expensive for just one (still the painted church is not to bad)

If you think this is in the wrong area, let me know.

Cheers

I've used odds and ends from them; they're useful.

Hi barbarian

The models are prepainted but you could always add rust, dust, dirt, etc.

The models aren't stunning quality but then again they are better than I can quickly scratchbuild  :D.

The open air shops have interiors.

Below is the original blog for those pics and a review of them by a Dropzone Commander player:-

Thanks for this Vic,  the detail is good, and with a bit of scratch addition could be westernised.

Are you using them for Far East/China  action?

GrumpyOldMan

Hello Sunray

Yes I can imagine that bakery with the addition of a suitable sign could just as easily be a French patisserie  :).

Or you could use the buildings as are for a godzilla scenario  :D.

Yes I have a few of them now for various Asian settings. The farms especially are useful:-

I've combined the second one with a resin church to use as a generic mission station.

The industrials are also good and can be used as European with very little work.

The reason I saw these is because I was looking at doing a 'Pony Wars' style bank robbery scenario in 1930s Shanghai and I wanted a more substantial building for the bank, luckily they had this in stock:-

It's a shame you'll have to redo the signs.

I know but I can use it as a Japanese Bank and hope that no-one can read Kanji  :).

I've been experimenting with using envelope labels to print out flags, roundels, etc. Maybe I can use this technique to make covering signs for the buildings.

I've used it for Manchukuo roundels to fit over Japanese roundels:-

Anyway my patrolling Shanghai Volunteer Corps White Russians and British troops stand ready to defend the International Settlement:-

On my first visit to Japan, I was surprised to see an attractive 1920s building in Kyoto with a number of large signs in Latin! What's a little Japanese in China by comparison?
