Why would Transport For London be interested in your rules?

I said they were in lost property
If I were creating Pendraken I wouldn't mess about with Romans and  Mongols  I would have started with Centurions , eight o'clock, Day One!

Sounds like a man preparing a Tubeway Army (bit 80s that one).

Taking the theme of your fictional French place names is Colmins likely to have a number of slag heaps?

:o well spotted Puritan - Indeed it will have some "industrial" terrain.

Confirming we are using the original version of ITLSU Fenton.

Cheers...just to lengthen the thread and get my post count up, are you  using the Western Front Supplement that was in the  TFL 2011 Summer special

Afternoon Fenton

I did get a  pdf copy from TFL with the rules but we made a concious decision to avoid trench warfare scenarios (which is what 95% of the 2011 supplement covers). This suits us pretty well as ! was after doing some 1914 retreat/race to the sea type games and Paul wants to do some 1917/18 games set in Palestine covering the ANZAC Mounted Div....NZ Mounted Brigade, but we are not going to game ANZAC's on Gallipoi at this stage.

There is a small supplement in the TFL Yahoo group files section that talks about equivalent "spunk ratings" for 1914 BEF/French/Belgian/German troops. We have used the rules pretty much as is for our various 1914 games with the appropriate ratings and have not had any issues.

From my own point of view ITLSU is a excellent ruleset that covers the type of brigade sized actions that I/we want to portray. I have also played other TFL rulesets and have yet to find a set of theirs that I dd not like. I have no association with them other than being a very satisfied customer  :)

Off to play another Balrome game tonight...we left the terrain set up but are reversing who plays which side.

Thanks...I was digging through some old Miniature Wargames last night and found a nice little scenario fr the Battle of Nery in 1914, which is a mostly cavalry action, its written for Bloody Picnic but I am sure it would be easy enough to convert...I could probably scan it in if anyone wants

Nery??? oh yes PLEASE Fenton.

The game didn't go quite as the Germans anticipated last night  :-[...those BEF swindhunds bowled underarm and slunk off to the south through the woods...I'll put up a proper AAR report when I get time.

Paul's been watching too many MSH games where Rhys always makes use of any cover to stop his Soviets taking fire from NATO ATGW's and super tanks.

We should have put a couple of Uhlan squadrons in the woods at least, but ain't hindsight wonderful  =)

Maybe Basil Fawlty was right - don't mention the war!

Thanks in advance for the Nery stuff Fenton.

Or carefully hiding positioning the mighty Belgian armour  ;D

Even one squadron of Uhlans would have bought you some time to redeploy the rest of the regiment  ;)

I should like to point out that the Kaiser described the BEF as "contemptibly small". Even Willy wasn't daft enough to think they were bad soldiers.  :P
When you realise we're all mad, life makes a lot more sense.

Given their performance in our game on Saturday they were definitely not "bad soldiers", as I'm sure Peter will agree  ;) ;D
