A quick AAR with my most recent scenario playtest for my own hex rules.

Nice blog with good ideas,8)
Fausts have a very high Anti-tank rating, easily enough to to damage a T-34 frontally, they just didn't have any real range, maybe they should be limited to in hex defender/assaulting fire? Didn't realise panzerfausts were active in'43, but after a quick Wiki search they are from that August. You live n learn! :D

Ah, it looks like I have explained that badly. The German forces in this scenario do not get a PzFaust allowance. But in close combat (only), hits generated can also be applied to vehicles and if they are, the conversion process is that the tank is attacked exactly as though it had been hit by a Bazooka or PzFaust weapon (regardless of year) - this is just using the systems present mechanics to sort out the effects and vulnerability of unsupported tanks against infantry. But it was too powerful as it stood.

I will change the text later so that this is a bit clearer.

Fair enough, makes sense.
Mehaps a quick rephrase, but that is a great way of showing that facet of WWII, unsupported tanks into a built up area was considered suicide! What would the factors have been like if the tank riders had gone in with them? Are there built in bonuses for command teams with 'panzerknacker' or equivalent, such as sticky bombs, pioneers and/or anti-tank rifles within a unit?

If the two tanks had had a Russian SMG unit with them, I doubt that the Panzer Grenadiers would have dared leave the protection of their buildings, but instead in their turn would have fired upon the exposed SMG unit. If the Germans had still gone into close combat, then the benefits of the SMG unit would have been that they could absorb one of the pin results, saving one of the tanks from having to take the attack. The combat would have been 6 Russian dice against 3 German dice, so no incentive at all for the Germans to break cover, especially as the scenario victory conditions are casualty based.
