I started in late 70's at Middlesbrough Wargames Club and have still yet to play with unpained figures. It is just so so very wrong >:(  ;)

Walk into any GW store up and down the country. I have even seen it at GW competitions.
I don't think my wife likes me very much, when I had a heart attack she wrote for an ambulance.

Unfortunately I have had occassion to field largely unpainted forces so that I can get a game in with my latest army. I don't have the ability to speed paint like Nik but probably spend too much time trying to get figures, tanks etc looking just right. It is actually one of the parts of the hobby that I really enjoy, but it just takes me ages. Add on top of that work, family, sleep and rarely a social life and there is very little time left in the day.

Never argue with an idiot; He'll drag you down to his level and beat you by experience.

Back!  Back!!  Foul devil...

Unpainted lead (or plastic) is the cardinal sin i'm afraid.

It's an insult to your opponent.

Never done it, never will.

That said, i'm not averse to the odd 'proxy' figure or two, especially when scoping out a new ruleset or army...
