How do you suggest to paint the ratmen?  Especially the fur.

fred.

I favour dry brushing.

Base coat a dark colour (eg black) then dry brush with dark brown. Repeat with a slightly lighter shade. Repeat until you are happy or bored!

Most animals have paler stomach areas so think about doing these a pale brown or even cream colour.

I painted my ratmen in dark brown and grey. No black fur for me.

You just coated it in the color?  No drybrushing or basing?

Sorry, I had not understand you asked about paint technics but only about furs colours. I coated most rats in dark brown than drybrushed with several tones of light brown, ocres (ocher?) or red brown. Some rats instead coated in black and drybrushed with dark gray or light gray.  I painted the tails and the paws in pink with viiolet lines for the tail segments.

Actually, one more question.  Did you base coat it with brush or spray?

FierceKitty

You were right: ochre in English.

Spray, the quickest way, then a drybrush passage in lighter tones. When the paint is dry a dark brown ink wash. Finally a second "selective" drybrush passage to highlights the ears, elbows and knees. Fast and simple  ;)

PS: Thanks FierceKitty for the correction.
