Just received the V1's.  :o That's a chunky bit of kit. Can't wait to get some Cromwells chasing around it.

Although I admire the paint job on the Pendraken version, I'm not sure it would be sensible to have something so bomb-able in such lovely bright colours.


Seems a bit viridian to me. B&W photos seem to indicate some sort of camouflage. Any suggestions?


Also took delivery of the last of the Flodden Scots! I see many yellows in my future.

Hello FSN

Here's a rather rushed photo of a American post war copy of the V1 called a Loon that I took on a very recent trip to the RNZAF museum in Christchurch that they acquired from the Smithsonian Institute. Our guide remarked that while the missile was American it was finished in correct German colours (probably Luftwaffe 65 Hellblau (light blue) undersides with 70 Schwarzgrun (black green) and/or 71 Dunkelgrun (Dark Green) upper surfaces).

This weekend to escape the awful weather we're having (32o the other day!) I'm weekending with my daughter. She has promised me rain all day Saturday. Being the excellent daughter she is, she was proposing a visit to the unfortunately named Bandeath Arms Depot - but we have settled on a trek to Perth to the Black Watch regimental museum.

I am very blessed with a very understanding and loving daughter.
