Only three!!
Those wasps are losing their touch.

I remember dissuading a workmate who had a wasp nest in his attic from "have a go hero" tactics.

Him: I'm going to wear a heavy coat, rubber gloves and hit them with a stick, then run away and drop through the attic trapdoor.

Me: Have you timed that run? Seems like a recipe for a house full of angry wasps.

We had  Wasp nest in loft. Called Pest Control...maybe Rentokill. Guy didn't go up into loft but gave their preferred Entry / Exit place under tiles a heavy dusting with killer powder. Did the trick! (They carry it into nest.).
I did same with ground nests... but 'loosely' covered with a bid lid to keep animals / birds off for a few days.
LOL! Deff safer option to 'considered' tactic of armouring up, pouring petrol into nest in old Rat hole... and chucking matches!  ;D

You could always try this method........and get your own scuplture into the bargin ;)

Not recommended for above ground nests though!

Hmm. But as I know nothing about casting hot metal, maybe I should call for volunteer Specialists from the casting industry? LOL!  ;D

Am I the only one who wished they'd been attacked by a giant molten-metal wasp?

Figure this one out. :-\

Sunday last, went to do one of the half weekly 'shops', at Tesco's in Cardigan.
As usual, arrived early enough to join the 'usual suspects.'

Went to get a trolley.....Oh..Where are the nice new trolleys ?  :o (These are a perfect 'mid-size', between the big trolleys...which are so old and knackered, that they all have steering problems..which b*ggers my back even more than usual....and the 'small ones' which are almost too small.)
These new ones are also great, because the handle is bigger, and has a nice flat area...ideal for using as a rest to cross out 'things' on the list.

Walked back and forth looking for the new ones...No..not there, I'll ask someone when I get into the shop.
Found an operative and explained I couldn't find the nice new trolleys...would she mind having a check...operative goes to check, and catches up with me a few minutes later.
"That's disappointing," said she.....they're not there anymore (She liked those trolleys, as well)...I've checked with the manager...They were only for use in the Summer (EH?)..we might get them back near Christmas.

Is there some giant warehouse filled with thousands of new trolleys somewhere in the UK ?
I mean why ? ;D ;D ;D ;D
What a waste of (presumably) diesel, ferrying trolleys back and forth !!

I would have understood more if they'd found out that these trolleys weren't destined for the Cardigan branch..and should have gone to a bigger store.
Very odd !!  ;D

Cheers - Phil. :)

fred.

All I can think on this, is that they were a trial and they have been returned to assess how well they have coped in real world use.

And its not so much they are just at the store for the summer and will be back in the winter, but if the summer was the trial period, they are now in an assessment period, and if the assessment is positive, then that type of trolley (and not necessarily the same trolley) will be available again.

Supermarkets really don't have warehouse space these days - so I can't see them filling a warehouse with trolleys...
