"You! Gunner! Shoot at the enemy over over that hill" he ordered parabolically.
"Can't Sir, we need Foward Obs to do that!" Replied the gunner indirectly.

Or

"Dirty airborne soldier tried to grab my bum, so I kicked him where it hurt" she asserted parabolically.

With 1 member of the team AWOL and another serving the charity in sunnier climes, my week days tend to go get up at 6am, back from work 8pm, bath, food, cats, mother, bed. Repeat.

Not a lot of time for fun stuff, or indeed painting.

I am still vacillating over the Napoleonic Prussians, but this weekend thought I'd spend a few hours with the WWII Japanese. Every time I look at a new range from Pendraken, I am impressed by the craftmanship and artistry, and the Japanese are lovely little figures. Great mix of helmet and cap, just as you see them in newsreels.

I wanted a lighter feel to these, so I undercoated white and then gave a brown-black wash before applying (for me) a very thin base coat. And that's about it for the Japanese. Picture references show just about everything in the same colour. I ended up doing some neck flaps, slings and haversacks in almost pure white for a bit of contrast but they're done.

Don't know how to do the bases. I was thinking black volcanic sand - but then realised I'd have to do a whole set of terrain the same, so will probably opt for sand. That'll make 'em pop  :(

At least with the US marines, the skin tone will contrast with the green.

Anyone else have certain things they just can't eat ? (Without 'suffering'.)

I don't mean food that you can't stand the taste of.....But certain things that 'taste nice'.....But that gets your stomach to go off on one, in a big way.
Last night...I took out what I thought was a 'spag bog' out of the fridge......"Oh b*gger, this has got crab in it.....I'm sure the last time I ate a 'crab meal', Mr Stomach threw a complete wobbly."

Anyway.....I cooked it...ate it....and thought..."That's really tasty...I enjoyed that."

Never touching that again.

I can't say that I suffer from any nasty 'allergy'.....But I wish I hadn't eaten it, from the way my stomach/gut has been behaving today.

When I had my gall bladder taken out I asked the doc if there was anything I couldn't eat. The answer "you'll find out".

And I have.

Usually after I've eaten them.

I developed an allergy to shellfish.  I haven't had any in about 14 years...  It still looks tasty in the menu though.   :'(

Fortunately I can eat almost anything with no ill effects.

Fresh white supermarket bread gives me indigestion, but not proper bread from the bakers.

Yup - me too! Ate crab and lobster for thirty years  then - bam!

Black pepper sprinkled on anything - if it is cooked into dish - not quite as bad.
