This game would be great with 100x50mm bases stuffed with 10mm figures...

Nice report but I know only too well of the frustration of the camera batteries dying at the worst possible moment!

Thanks!  It was a collective project we did a few years ago and everyone put a lot of effort into making their armies pretty.

We did it for Dark Ages/Arthurian WAB, played a few games and hated the rules...

We have:

Saxons (me)
Picts
Attecotti
Irish (mostly cavalry)
Romano-British

As for the dice, they're ex-casino dice so yes quite large.  They're hard to find, expensive but well worth it.  Being precision engineered they tend to roll very fairly over the course of a game.  Also, they just feel right when you throw them, and they're easy to see for those with 'older eyes'...   ;D :D

Yes, they're also noticably heavier than ordinary plastic dice. A friend has a load of them - they're probably worth more than his army!

Nice game, by the way. I particularly like the banners. They always give a unit an identity.  :-bd
When you realise we're all mad, life makes a lot more sense.
