Ancient Indian Chariots

I  bought an Ancient Indian army pack, and, generally, they look good.

However, I have a problem with the chariots. There seems no way to connect the chariot to the horses! There's no yoke, and the curved piece sticking out of the chariot doesn't seem to connect at all with the horses.

How do they go together?

Try to bend an iron paperclip, I think it works.

But what for, and where does it go? The chariot will not sit anywhere level if the curved piece is positioned so it ends at the level of the horses' shoulders.

Phobos

Just take a look to my chariots. I think the problem are the miniwheels, more than the yoke. Any way, the yoke is easily bended, try to adjust it.

Where are they?

Sorry, my bad, I want to say "I just take a look to my chariots"

So, did you straighten out the curved piece enough to reach the horses' shoulders, and add in a cross-piece? As it is, the curved piece can only reach the horses' mid-ribs, halfway up their flanks - leaving no way to secure them to the chariot, and no space behind them for their hind legs to flex!
