clibinarium

I think I know, but don't want to spoil the fun yet!

I'll have a guess [& it is...]: Swabian grenadiers?

They look lovely, whatever they are  8)

Pawel Chrzanowski

:) I know them and best news for me is  : I don't have to paint them for Maciek :) he did great work  !!

clibinarium

I should guess too, rather than trying to appear I actually know! Are they the grenadiers of the Leibregiment of Wurttemberg? I had a look through From Pike to Shot, they seem closest to these figures

goat major

i have no idea but they really are little beauties - great paintjob. Oh no - I have a WSS itch starting - please make it go away  :'(

Yes, Clibinarium !
They are Wurttemberg Leibgrenadiers !
Whole regiment of guard grenadiers, who fought at Blenheim alongside two others Wurttemberg battalions - Hermann and Sternfell.
I based uniform on From Pike to Shot and some additional info found in one of yahoo groups.
And here is regiment Sternfell:

Thanks guys ! Hope, you enjoyed it, there is more to come.

Ben Waterhouse

Very nice! Love the flags.

What rules are they based on?

maciek

Thanks Ben. Flags are printed.

And about rules, do you mean, what rules we use for wargaming ? Our own, not completed yet. Based on Polemos, but with major modifications. Generally, one stand equals one battalion or 2-3 squadrons.

nice painted horses - my nightmare :)

Grenadier

OK, I'll bite.  I can't find a flag pic, but I'll guess that it is Wurzburg's Fechenbach Dragoon Regiment.
By the way, I haven't found a really good web source for early 18th century flags, any suggestions?

miss   :)

AFAIK Wurzburg regiment didn't have multicoloured carbine belts. And this regiment does. (It was first hint  :))

Grenadier

Ach du lieber!  Then my last attempt will be one of the Prussian Dragoons Regiments: Lottum, Ansbach, Markgraf or the Leibregiment, they all had grey coats, blue cuffs and blue/white  schabraques.  I know nothing about the carbine belts.
