Hi folks,

I have been doing a lot of 28 mm, but right now I am building an army to play HOTT / Glorantha.

Currently fleshing out the Tarsh army list.  After that I'm starting on a few Sartarite clan warbands and the Sartar free army.

Hi there, welcome to the forum.

Sounds interesting, are you using our Fantasy figures for that?  We have a lot of customers who play HOTT rules.

Thanks for the prompt welcome  :o

As a matter of fact I use some fantasy models, but I also use historicals.

For instance, the Lunar Tarsh army has cataphracts and lancers, I use Dacians for that, they look just the part.
Sun Dome templars are supposed to look like greek hoplites with yellow horse feathers, clad in yellow and blue.
I need Tarsh city militia, huscarls with spears look fine for that.
Afterwards I'll complete that with Dara Happan (Babylon-like), Aggar (Still Looking), Holay (Roman) and the other Lunar Provinces

The opponents of Tarsh are Sartarite clans.  I use Celts, Britons, Germans but also Huscarls and Thanes, so there I need a visual clue to decide.  Also I need to find the units for the Sartar free army, city militia (probably some kind of huscarls too), and Prax barbarians, including bison riders, horse troops, barbarians, and so on...

Then there are some other (parts of) armies that I need, including elves, dwarfs, lizardmen, centaurs, minotaurs, beastmen, satyrs, dinosaurs, all kinds of undead, and more to make up the various allies to Sartar and Lunar.

The hardest part, and the one that I really need pix for, is the various magical units.  Glorantha is a fantasy world that is very rich in magic, and both magical foot units and mounted magical units, as well as priests doing incantations are needed.  I'm ordering Beggar magicians and arab foot and mounted to see what could work for a start, but I'm sure you can see how pix will help.

The idea is to have two large armies, with a load of allies for both sides, looking very fantasy-like and colourful.

Oh, did I mention I need to make a huge crimson bat that should be 1 km across - thats 6m on scale ?  :P

That's almost a 4m bat isn't it?  I'm almost scared to ask why you need a giant bat?!

If you've got any artwork of what you're looking for, post it up, and we'll see if we can recommend something from our ranges?

Hi Leon,

The Crimson Bat is a demon that is controlled by the red emperor.  It eats enemy units.  However, if the Lunarese are unable to feed it with enemies, they have to feed it with their own troops, lest it returns to the void.  It also radiates red moon light, which gives the lunarese magicians nigh infinite power.  It's like a porta-red-moon that you can take along with your army.  I'm definitely gonna make one, but it'll be like 20 cm across, that should do for tabletop  :-\

I'll definitely look up some artwork this evening and post it, especially for the more exotic stuff like magicians and so on.
