My poor French Guard got well rogered by the Prussian Guard. During the first turn of cards my entire grand battery of 12 pdrs was destroyed by the mass batteries of the Guard Korps Krupp batteries. The French never recovered from this as troops were moved around to try and plug gaps. Battle ended after the French had no more morale points (out of 16) and the original Prussian 22 points stood at 23. On the bright side the victor gave me a shed load of 2mm stuff he had no further use for - including the bulk of a sizeable 1859/70 French army.

Of course, because everyone knows about the Bletchley Ashigaru in Henry's army - something to do with Shen Gen.

So even though you got a bum result it all ended without tears. Nice gain.

Weren't these on brown bases before?

Did you spray them white, then paint them black, then paint the armour silver? I think I would have just sprayed black then dry brushed silver for chaps in lots of armour.

Well spotted that Forbes:
A) I don't own any black spray.
2) I prefer white.
iii) I just wanted to get them on table for Thursday, but I'm against an expert painter, so unpainted figures is a no!

I'm hoping to finish the yellow and green (Staley's) archers tonight!

That's a pretty convincing set of reasons. It's always interesting to see how other people approach painting. I have an assortment of colours of spray and tend to pick one that suits for a project. Though I am favouring grey a lot lately (mainly from recommendations from the good chaps on here).
