"Time present and time past
Are both perhaps present in time future
And time future contained in time past.
If all time is eternally present
All time is unredeemable.
What might have been is an abstraction
Remaining a perpetual possibility
Only in a world of speculation.
What might have been and what has been
Point to one end, which is always present." - T. S. Eliot "Burnt Norton"

I have three standard-bearers with a collection of clubmen in my ECW medley. One standard bears the loyal legend "East Coker for King Charles", one "Little Gidding for King Charles", one "Norton for Kin..." (the rest of the flag is missing, with burn marks). Nobody's got the point yet; I think I need to upgrade the level of my opponents.

Okay, parading my ignorance* here, but I don't get it?

* But I was always taught that there's no shame in not knowing everything - it's always much worse to pretend you understand something than admit you don't.

The component poems of T. S. Eliot's "Four Quartets" are Burnt Norton, East Coker, The Dry Salvages and Little Gidding

Much of Eliot's poetry feels more like a puzzle than a poem with obscure and oblique references to other writings.

So the final flag represents Burnt Norton rather neatly.

I have long thought that Eliot would have been a better crustacean than poet.
