Gentlemen, 25th May 2012 is...

- Star Wars Day (the 35th Anniversary)
- Towel Day
- Geek Pride Day
- Wear the Lilac Day

So a VERY busy day in the geek calendar.
I trust you will all be doing something suitably geeky to celebrate?

I for one will be stretching the celebrations out over the coming weekend…

I'm getting ready to go off to do ww2 reenactment as French, so plenty of geeky prep going on. I will have to do something starwarsy today as the OH is a starwars nut! She has even taken the day off work  Roll eyes
And a manic Prattchet fan. Something to do with 'wear lilac if you were there' day or something like that.

Tonight i shall, with my very geeky wife, be watching the original cut of Star Wars IV: A New Hope.  Han shot first.

This weekend (Sat & Sun) i shall be participating in a 2-day Field of Glory Tournament at my club with some old friends coming up from the south.

Tomorrow night, after i've checked out the state of socio-political play in the EU as expressed through the Nationalist voting on Eurovision, i shall be watching Star Wars V: The Empire Strikes Back (again, original cut), probably followed by an episode or two of the Hitchhikers TV Series.  Beer and peanuts will be consumed as a muscle relaxant.

And Sunday night i suspect shall conclude with Star Wars VI: Return of the Jedi.  I shall ogle the gold bikini and cheer when the Ewok dies.

My geek, this weekend, is firmly on.

What was never explained as far as I can recall was what the gestures for "lizard" and "Spock" actually were.  Undecided

It's in the wiki article:
Lizard is a sock puppet hand, Spock is a Vulcan hand greeting.
