I've put some thoughts on the full Maurice rules on my Blog. No pics of any games I'm afraid as we were too busy concentrating on the rules. Hope it is of use. http://wwiiwargaming.blogspot.co.uk/

Steve
Quick reference sheets are in the back of the book.
I think the card system is fascinating and involves a lot of decision making as to their use in terms of timing and effect.
You mentioned using more than one commander. As far as i can see that can only be done in doubles games and then would need a second set of cards. There is as far as i can see no secondary command function for issuing orders, although I may have to read the Notables section again.

Notables don't directly act as comanders. They do need their own figure though. They can reduce command ranges either if ordere to do their preferred action, or through the Chief of Staff.
Still haven't been able to play a real game, but a few people in our gaming group are interested and we should manage to fit a game in in the next couple of weeks.

Does any one else see 'Maurice' and think "I'm never playing a game called Morris?" Cheers, Martyn --

Who is Maurice, and whose thoughts does he rule?

Maurice de Saxe, one of France's most successful C18th generals. Imagine a WWII game called Patton or a Napoleonic game called Napoleon.

Just played another game this evening using some of the suggestions from the Maurice Forum for an ECW bash. I have to say it worked quite well with the game going right to the wire.

I was thinking that the Maurice mechanisms might actually work well for the ECW\TWY period, especially using the notables. I'll have to check out the Maurice forum for their suggestions.

Some have tried ECW and TYW and have given good feedback, especially for the former.

There's some energy going into notables and action deck cards over on the honour forum - I am sure your efforts will be welcome!
In my last game I randomly drew two notables both of whom were catholic - one for Charles and one for Cromwell! Oddly enough the Cromwellian Catholic Notable was sent on suicide mission massively outnumbered by Cavaliers.
